Item Swap Scams in Runescape
written by Runescape Scams Educator on November 20th

If you see someone selling something for cheap, automatically be suspicious. You can still go over and trade with them, but don't accept until you're 100% sure that your paying for the right item. A lot of people fall for this, when the other trade takes away some of the items he originally put up.

Example: Player trades me, puts up 2k coal. He then says "200k", I put up 200k. Everything seems ok, until I reached the final Screen. There was only 200 coal, instead of 2,000. DECLINE.

Do NOT fall for it. If someone offers to buy a rare item of yours, for a ridiculously high amount of gp, be cautious.

If this person puts up say, 4,000,000gp, be careful that he doesn't update it in a few moments to something that LOOKS larger than 4M but is actually more around the value of 4K!
