First off, let me be clear - I do not have a vested interest in any of these products. This article is a summary of a recent discussion on the rec.sports.swimming newsgroup.
Swimmer's hair - we all know it when we see it, and especially when we feel it - straw-like, "barbie-doll" like... damaged. Some folks even experience a chemical reaction that causes their hair to go green! Shampooing becomes very important, unless for some reason you're going the hairless route... in which case, perhaps I should write an article about what body soap removes the chlorine smell the best! Some brands of shampooing products that have been used by swimmers and recommended by them are: - Malibu 2000
- UltraSwim
- Matrix Essentials (clarifying shampoo)
- Paul Mitchell Shampoo #3 (contains a chlorine neutralizer)
Not many folks tend to talk about the conditioning products they use, so I'll supply my own recommendation, based on recent personal use - Got2BeMe's conditioner is the most amazing conditioner I've used in years! Do you have any recommendations for good Shampoos or Conditioners for active swimmers? Let me know! |
